What Are Your Thoughts?

Just had a quick thought and wanted to get some insight. Is there truly parenting roles when raising children? Or should both parents have the same role instilling and getting their child prepared for this world?

I read an article about how financial literacy is running rampant like a chicken with his head cut off (my analogy). Many have no direction as to what to do, how to do it, when to do it, who to do it with and why it should be done. As a society we are working to the point of literally killing ourselves to make ends meet yet as fast as we get it, it literally disappears. I remember my mother saying “that money is just burning a hole in your pocket”. I would chuckle but now I’m like forget the pocket, it’s burning holes through checking accounts. I feel this is another area where we were failed in. It’s like you want to create generational wealth and financial freedom yet you have no clue how to obtain either. By time you look up, 15-20 years have flew by and you are struggling the same as you were back then. With promotions, more income, maturity and drive it’s still not enough. Let alone throw in this inflation. I can definitely see many on the wheel of life, just turning the wheel with no knowledge of how to get off. If you did get (hit a lick as one might say) you still don’t know what to do with it so eventually back to the wheel you go. IJS!

As I think about professional development, I wonder at what age is this made a priority and who does the teaching? Life? Parents? School? Friends? Like seriously, where is the generation behind us learning these skills sets from. Where and how are they developing and understanding their worth? Co-workers? TV? Social Media? Someone please let me know my questions are valid because I am like professionally the upcoming generation is like doomed in this area.
